By this point, we have analyzed and over-analyzed plenty of prospects that could go to the Patriots with the 17th overall pick. Tonight, I am asking you to make a prediction, who will the Patriots take? Lets run through some quick possibilities:
Gabe Carimi, OT, Wisconsin: Versatile and experienced tackle who is NFL ready.
Mike Pouncey, C/G, Florida: Not a polished center, but is the top interior OL in the draft.
Muhammad Wilkerson, DE, Temple: Has size, strength, and athleticism to be a right or left end in Patriots' 3-4 defense.
Ryan Kerrigan, OLB, Purdue: Relentless pass rusher who could provide an upgrade to the Patriots pass rush.
Prince Amukamara, CB, Nebraska: Big, athletic, fast cornerback who excels in off-man, press, and zone coverage. Great all around player who would be BPA at 17.
Da'Quan Bowers, DL/LB, Clemson: Stock is falling due to knee injury. If healthy, is the best DE in the 2011 draft class.
Anthony Costanzo, OT, Boston College: Top OT who could play left or right side for the Patriots.
Cameron Heyward, DE, Ohio State: Prototype 3-4 right defensive end who has high upside.
JJ Watt, DE, Wisonsin: Claimed by many to be the #1 five-technique in the 2011 draft class.
Mark Ingram, RB, Alabama: Former Heisman winner has durability concerns, but is top back in this class.
Julio Jones, WR, Alabama: A big and smart receiver who has the ability to do it all (streak, run routes, block).
Aldon Smith, OLB, Mizzou: Pass rusher with great length and athleticism. High upside.
Cameron Jordan, DL, Cal: Strong DL with good length who could play a variety of roles along the defensive line (or elephant outside linebacker?)
Tyron Smith, OT, USC: Played right side at USC, projects at LT in the pros. High upside/athleticism.
