Patriots Draft Week in Preview: Cornerbacks

New, comments

Here's a list of the top overall cornerbacks in the 2011 NFL Draft:

1. Patrick Peterson

2. Prince Amukamara

3. Brandon Harris

4. Jimmy Smith

5. Aaron Williams

Mentions: Curtis Brown, Davon House, Brandon Burton, Ras-I Dowling

This draft is rich in mid-round cornerbacks and the Patriots could be in the market for more depth if Jonathan Wilhite is deemed expendable and if Darius Butler doesn't improve. Just like the running back position, any additional cornerbacks is just gravy over a solid position, but that gravy would definitely make the squad better than last season.

Top statistics of cornerbacks in the draft are after the jump!

Most Interceptions (Last Season): Numerous prospects with 5 interceptions

Most Interceptions (Career): Brandyn Thompson, Boise State, 13 interceptions

Fastest 40 Time: DeMarcus Van Dyke, Miami, 4.28s

Fastest 3 Cone Time: Buster Skrine, Chattanooga, 6.44s

Longest Broad Jump: Cortez Allen, Citadel, 10'9

Highest Vertical Jump: Curtis Brown, Texas, 39.5
