Patriots Top 10 Busts

Name: Guss Scott

College: Florida

Drafted: 3rd round, 95th overall, 2004

Position: Safety

Years with Team: 3

Where is he now? Out of football

Comments: In many ways, Guss Scott's career with the Patriots was very similar to that of Tyrone McKenzie.  Coming out of Florida, Scott was projected to be part of a three man safety rotation with Rodney Harrison and Eugene Wilson and was also expected to be a big contributor on special teams, but it just never panned out.  Scott missed his entire rookie season with injury.  He played in five games in 2005, starting two and making 25 tackles and contributing on special teams.  Unfortunately for Scott, he would be cut before the start of the 2006 regular season, landing on the team's practice squad before being signed to play one game against the Houston Texans.  He was cut immediately following the game, and bounced around in 2007 before being out of football.  Scott's contributions were very minimal to the Patriots, and he never did anything else in the league.
