NFL Preseason Week 1

New England Patriots (0-0) vs. Jacksonville Jaguars (0-0)

7:30 PM ET | Gillette Stadium | Foxboro, MA

Jaguars Coverage: Big Cat Country

Update: According to 98.5 The Sports Hub, Patriots quarterback Tom Brady will not play tonight. He has warmed up and is in uniform, but reportedly will not play. Third year quarterback Brian Hoyer is expected to get the starting nod.

Well, I can't believe the preseason is finally upon us. The long void that was the NFL Lockout has been supplanted by what could be described as the most exciting two weeks in NFL history. And in those two weeks, the Patriots have made plenty of moves.

The Patriots have brought in the likes of Chad Ochocinco, Albert Haynesworth, Andre Carter, Shaun Ellis, and Mark Anderson. On the other side of things, the likes of Ty Warren, Tully Banta-Cain, and Nick Kaczur have all been shown the door. While we won't see all of the aforementioned players debut for the Patriots, we can expect some of them to suit up.

How much will the Patriots' starters play? I would expect about two to three drives, depending on the outcome. Last year, the starters played two drives, the second of which was a touchdown drive.

Enjoy the game and keep it clean!
