New England Patriots at Detroit Lions

NFL Preseason Week 3

Saturday, August 27th | 8:00 PM ET

Ford Field | Detroit, Michigan

Bucs Coverage: Pride of Detroit

In what could be considered a "test run" for the regular season, the New England Patriots will take on the Detroit Lions at Ford Field in Detroit for the team's third preseason match-up.

Through two preseason games, the Patriots have dominated with 47-12 and 31-14 victories over the Jaguars and Buccaneers, respectively. The team's starters took the field for the first time last week against the Buccaneers. While the team jumped out strong on both sides of the ball, the offense stalled a bit in the second quarter.

Tonight's contest against Detroit will be a good chance for Tom Brady and the offense to continue to establish the foundation for the offense in 2011. Defensively, the team has really shown a spark when it comes to getting to the quarterback. Tonight's game will be another chance for players such as Mark Anderson and Andre Carter to continue to get acclimated to the Patriots' system.
