Despite a report early today indicating that there was a chance that Rob Gronkowski would be active tonight against the San Francisco 49ers, Mike Reiss of ESPN Boston is reporting that Gronkowski has been listed as inactive.
Gronkowski had practiced this past Friday, but on a limited basis, and many had felt that there was a chance that he could have played tonight against the 49ers. Gronk had broke his left forearm on November 18 against the Indianapolis Colts, and his timetable to return was within this week or next week against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Other inactives for tonight's game for the Patriots are defensive back Derrick Martin, offensive lineman Markus Zusevics, defensive lineman Ron Brace, linebacker Tracy White and defensive end Jake Bequette.
San Francisco's inactive players are safety Trenton Robinson, linebacker Tavares Gooden, wide receiver Mario Manningham, running back Jewel Hampton, offensive guard Joe Looney and defensive tackle Ian Williams.
