The moves aren't stopping. Michael Lombardi reports that the Patriots have a deal with offensive guard Robert Gallery. Next season, Gallery will be 32 years old; he stands as a 6-7, 325 lbs guard who was drafted as the best tackle prospect of the decade. Unfortunately, that didn't pan out and he was moved to guard, where he became an extremely solid player.
Gallery is another low risk-high reward player. He has struggled the past few seasons with injuries, but he was a top guard in the league when he was healthy. Gallery will provide insurance at right guard if Brian Waters decides not to return and as injury insurance. Gallery gives the Patriots one of the deepest lines in the league as there is a starting-quality player backing up each line position.
I believe that Gallery is another solid addition and I believe that he'll step up and have a very good season. He has been playing injured the past few seasons and, if he's finally healthy as his agent claims, then the Patriots just picked up another very solid player.
UPDATE: In other news, the Jets have signed safety LaRon Landry to a 1 year/$4 million contract. Too much for the Patriots' taste.
UPDATE #2: Rap Sheet says it's a one year deal. Test drive.
