CBS Draft Profile

Expected Round: 2

Game Footage

Strengths: Great at following the lead blocker when available. Solid plant foot explosion to change direction. Able to get small to get through the line. Slips lots of tackles. Great speed. dangerous open field runner. Very physical runner.

Weaknesses: Inexperienced pass blocker. Inexperienced receiver. Likes to jump through the line of scrimmage, which can lead to unnecessary contact and potential fumble opportunities. Must learn to let the play develop and not over-run his lead blocker.

What is their role? Wilson could be a feature back on the offense if he develops other facets of his game. Currently a two down back.

Will it change from year 1 to year 2? If he develops as a player, he could have a larger role.

How many downs can he play? Two, for now.

Which current player will he beat out? One of the fullbacks, potentially beat Stevan Ridley as the lead back.

What’s his ST value? Active kick returner. I don't think he'll be a core four performer.

Does he have positional versatility? RB/KR.

Why the Patriots? The Patriots are looking to fill out their running back stable and are also looking to add to their special teams return unit. Wilson will be able to do both extremely well.

Why not the Patriots? Wilson is a high cost player for a role position on the team. There would be better value later in the draft.

Verdict: No. I don't see the Patriots drafting Wilson unless he falls in the draft.
