Training Camp 2012: Patriots and Saints Will Hold Joint Practices

After reportedly discussing the parameters last month, the New Orleans Saints and New England Patriots are now scheduled to hold joint practices during training camp next month.

In the release of their official training camp schedule, the New Orleans Saints announced that they will travel to Foxboro for joint practices on August 7th and 8th. On August 9th, the two teams will meet for a preseason match-up at Gillette Stadium at 7:30 PM ET.

This is certainly exciting news for Patriots fans, as the joint practices with the Falcons and Saints in 2010 brought huge crowds to the fields and were really entertaining. According to Patriots coach Bill Belichick, they were also some of the most productive practices he's had as a head coach. The Saints are a talented team despite everything they've undergone this offseason, and it's great for both sides to be able to face off in practice against different faces and different looks.

The Patriots have also been in discussions with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers about joint practices this training camp.
