The New England Patriots' rookies reported to training camp on this Thursday, but not all of them got off to the start they were hoping for. According to multiple reports, five Patriots rookies failed their physicals.

The five players who failed the physical are WR Jeremy Ebert, DL Justin Francis, wide receiver Matt Roark, offensive lineman Jeremiah Warren, and tackle Markus Zusevics.

The good news is, that none of the Patriots first six picks are among the group that failed the physical. The bad news is, for Jeremy Ebert and the four undrafted free agents unable to pass the test, it lowers their chance of making the final roster. For some players, it was likely pre-existing injuries that caused them to fail the exam. Jeremy Ebert and Markus Zusevics likely fall in that group.

For others who may have failed the physical due to a lack of conditioning or some unknown factor, it will be important for them to get ready to hit the practice fields as quickly as possible. Justin Francis is a player that comes to mind, as someone made an impression early, who has a chance to make the final roster, but will need to get ready to practice as quickly as possible.

The Patriots physical is notoriously hard, but it is nonetheless concerning that so many players aren't ready to take the field, regardless of the fact that we don't know the actual reason that the players didn't pass the test.
