After seven long months of waiting, the 2012 NFL season is finally here, as the Dallas Cowboys prepare to take on the New York Giants in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
For Patriots fans, rooting interest is obvious. The Giants must lose - the raising of their Super Bowl XLVI banner must be tarnished with a terrible loss.
Okay, seriously. I really want the Giants to lose, but you have to consider the fact that the last 12 defending Super Bowl champs have won their season opener. That being said, I do see the Cowboys as a really improved team, and I like their new starting cornerbacks, Morris Claiborne and Brandon Carr. The Giants have the home and emotional advantage, but I like the Cowboys to play this one close. And hey, maybe they can pull out a win. Side-note: no way I'm picking the Giants in this one. Greg's Prediction: Cowboys 24 Giants 20
