Early in the second quarter, the New England Patriots have taken a 10-7 lead on the New Orleans Saints after a one yard Stevan Ridley touchdown.
The Patriots have scored on two of their three drives to start the game. Quarterback Tom Brady has been sharp thus far, completing 10 of 13 throws. Rookie receiver Aaron Dobson has been Brady's top target, catching five passes for 57 yards.
The Saints do have a long touchdown drive of their own. The Patriots have held Jimmy Graham without a catch, but quarterback Drew Brees has been perfectly comfortable hitting the running backs on short throws to move the chains. The Saints lone touchdown was on a short Travaris Cadet catch from Brees.
Overall, a solid start from the Patriots, but they'll need to play the check-down receivers tighter, and avoid mental mistakes on offense. The Patriots have two drops already.
