New England Patriots Injury Report: Dennard is out, Arrington, Talib are questionable

Mark L. Baer-USA TODAY Sports

Throughout the week, one thing has been clear: safety Steve Gregory (thumb) will miss Monday's game against the Carolina Panthers.

However, it was a surprise to see cornerback Alfonzo Dennard pop up as "did not participate" today on the New England Patriots' injury report. It was later announced that he is out, which is a major hit to the secondary.

With Dennard out of Monday's game, t's fair to assume that Aqib Talib will play. I'll be hard pressed to believe that the Patriots would go out without their top two starting corners, which would put a brunt of the pressure on rookie Logan Ryan, and veteran Kyle Arrington, who is already questionable with a groin injury.

However, outside of the secondary, the Patriots appear to be relatively healthy. Wide receiver Danny Amendola (groin) was a full participant throughout the week, as were Tom Brady (right shoulder) and Matthew Slater (wrist).

I am still hoping Leon Washington (ankle) is able to play soon, because he can be a huge difference maker as a kick returner. Interestingly, Brandon Bolden was removed from the injury report on Friday, which means that the Patriots will be stacked at the running back position, assuming Shane Vereen makes his return to the field.

Here is this week's full injury report for the New England Patriots:
