BNOTD: CB Alfonzo Dennard Expected to Miss Time

But..but...they didn't even win?!

Mark L. Baer-USA TODAY Sports

According to Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald, Patriots cornerback Alfonzo Dennard is expected to miss the upcoming game against the Broncos, and might even miss out on additional time. Dennard suffered a knee injury during the bye week and was labeled inactive for this past game against the Panthers.

The Patriots greatly missed Dennard's press ability against the Panthers, especially as fellow cornerbacks Aqib Talib and Kyle Arrington injured themselves, and Talib struggled in coverage.

If Talib (hip) and Arrington (groin/thigh) are less than 100%, and the Patriots are still without safety Steve Gregory (hand), then the Patriots secondary immediately flips from being the last remaining strength of the defense to another middle of the road unit, backing up a front seven already devastated by injuries.

Hopefully Dennard can recover quickly, but the Patriots will absolutely miss him when Denver and their high octane passing offense comes to town. The Patriots are going to need him for the home stretch of the season.
