The Patriots have named their inactives for today's game against the Texans:
LB Steve Beauharnais - Rookie LB with primarily an ST role, means that LBs Dane Fletcher and Jamie Collins should have more overall time in the game. Not unexpected.
CB Alfonzo Dennard - Dennard had surgery prior to the Broncos game, but remained active. He tweaked it in the first half and sat out the second half. Odds are they're resting him as a precaution. CBs Kyle Arrington and Logan Ryan will see their playing time increase. Also, safety Steve Gregory is active and should get some playing time.
DE Jake Bequette - Sophomore third round pick is inactive again. Not a good sign, but not unexpected.
WR Aaron Dobson - Dobson has a minor sprained foot and looks to rest it. He injured it against the Broncos, forcing the Patriots to sit him for WR Kenbrell Thompkins. Look for Thompkins to have a bigger role this week.
TE Michael Hoomanawanui - Hooman is sitting out with a knee injury. Fellow TE Matthew Mulligan is dinged up, but should be able to play, as should fullback James Develin. Newly signed TE D.J. Williams would also play the versatile fullback spot that Hooman played, but should have limited snaps.
OT Marcus Cannon - Cannon left last week's game against the Broncos with an ankle injury and third string tackle Will Svitek stepped in and played well. Svitek should get the start (he was a starter in 2011 for the Atlanta Falcons).
RB Stevan Ridley - Ridley is benched for his fumbling, not for his health. Look for RBs Shane Vereen and Brandon Bolden to team up for almost every RB snap.
