Today, the New England Patriots and the Buffalo Bills will face off in a critical week 17 match-up at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Massachusetts. Kick-off will be at 4:25 PM ET on CBS.
With the Indianapolis Colts blowing out the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Patriots will need to beat the Buffalo Bills today in order to secure a first round bye and a possible #2 or #1 seed in the AFC playoffs.
The Bills will be starting Thad Lewis at quarterback, who has shown some flashes and led the Bills to a 19-0 upset against the Dolphins last week. The Bills defense has been a force to be reckoned with at times this season, and their front four has been everything Bills fans had hoped and more.
While the Bills will be looking to play the upset role for the second straight week, I think the Patriots will hold them off. They're at home, where they are 7-0 and are on the verge of clinching a sixth undefeated season at home in the Bill Belichick era. They are getting healthy on offense, with Kenbrell Thompkins, Nate Solder, Shane Vereen, and Aaron Dobson all active. And most importantly, they have a first round bye on the line. Greg's Prediction: Patriots 27 Bills 17
