Round 4, Pick 102: Patriots Select Josh Boyce, WR, TCU

US PRESSWIRE

The New England Patriots have opened day three of the 2013 NFL Draft by selecting TCU wide receiver Josh Boyce with the 102nd overall selection in the fourth round.

Boyce is the second receiver the Patriots have drafted, after the team selected Marshall receiver Aaron Dobson in the second round yesterday. Boyce's skillset makes him an potentially strong compliment to Dobson. He's a little shorter, at 5'11", but is an explosive athlete. He ran a 4.34 at the combine, and perhaps most intriguingly, ran a 6.68 three cone drill, which is really impressive.

He was very productive during his time at TCU, and was projected by most to be a mid-round selection. Boyce has the potential to be a versatile piece in the receiving corps, as he can likely line up on either the outside or inside.

Boyce took a pre-draft visit with the Patriots. While selected in the fourth round, Boyce looks like he could compete for playing time with fellow rookie Aaron Dobson from day one.
