Austin Collie Working Out With Patriots

The Patriots have brought in oft-injured receiver Austin Collie for a workout, hoping to bolster their thinned out receiving corps.

According to Mike Reiss over at ESPN Boston, the Patriots are currently working out former Colts wide receiver Austin Collie. Collie, 27, joins Anthony Gonzalez as the latest injury-prone former Colt to come in for a shot at earning a place on the New England roster.

Before he became a veritable concussion machine, Collie was an extremely productive receiver who developed an almost immediate chemistry with Peyton Manning. He is a smart, fast player who has shown ability to line up all over the field and could potentially be a nice pickup provided he shows no lingering effects from the head and knee injuries he has sustained over the past few years and does in fact sign a waiver releasing New England of any and all responsibilities regarding his ongoing health.

Collie adds yet another level to what is already shaping up to be an incredibly eventful training camp. Hopefully he's able to hit his stride and show everyone that he can still contribute at a high level.
