ProFootballTalk.com has unveiled the final portion of their “PFT Top 100” NFL players, with New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady landing at number two in the rankings, behind only Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
The poll was unique, and different than NFL Network’s Top 100, as it was composed by a large panel of media members (whereas NFL Network’s was composed by a small group of players, some of whom have admitted they could care less).
Brady’s ranking at two seems to be very fair, even if there are a lot of fans around the league that would like to see him lower.
In total, the Patriots had five players rank in the top 100:
2. Tom Brady, QB
26. Rob Gronkowski, TE
45. Vince Wilfork, DT
65. Jerod Mayo, LB
68. Logan Mankins, G
Looking at some of the players on their list, it would have been nice to see Sebastian Vollmer on that list. Still, those five players are perhaps the five most recognizable names on the team’s roster. Perhaps in a year or so, youngsters such as Nate Solder, Chandler Jones, Devin McCourty, and Don’t’a Hightower could get some consideration.
What do you think? Was the number two ranking fair for Brady? What other Patriots players would you have liked to have seen in the top 100?
