Tonight, the New England Patriots will travel to Detroit to take on the Lions in their third preseason game. Tonight’s game will carry more intrigue than usual, as starters for both teams should play into the second half.
The Patriots have been successful thus far on offense in the preseason, with the starters turning all but one drive into six points. I will be intrigued to see if they can have sustained success in a game atmosphere. The receiving corps is expected to be without the injured Danny Amendola. In Amendola’s absence, expect veteran Julian Edelman to see a lot of time in the slot, with the rookies getting the majority of the reps on the outside.
Defensively, I’ll be looking to see how the unit holds up against Detroit’s high powered passing attack. The front seven dominated in limited opportunities against the Buccaneers, but the secondary didn’t really get tested. They should tonight.

The game will start at 7:30 PM ET and can be found streaming via NFL.com’s Preseason Live.
