The New England Patriots have announced their inactives for their week two match-up against the New York Jets:
Danny Amendola, WR
Will Svitek, OT
Brandon Bolden, RB
Chris Jones, DT
Steve Beauharnais, LB
Rob Gronkowski, TE
Zach Sudfeld, TE
Thoughts:
- As expected, both Danny Amendola and Rob Gronkowski are out tonight. Both could eye a week three return, but it leaves the Patriots strapped for playmakers tonight against the Jets. The team will receive a boost with the return of Aaron Dobson, who was held out week one but will make his NFL debut tonight.
- Carries will be split between Stevan Ridley and LeGarrette Blount tonight, as Brandon Bolden remains out. Leon Washington will make his debut however, and he could assist as a return specialist as well.
- Rookies Zach Sudfeld and Steve Beauharnais are out. Beauharnais is a healthy scratch while Sudfeld was questionable. Sudfeld's absence leaves the Patriots with just Michael Hoomanawanui and Matthew Mulligan at tight end (and perhaps James Develin as a blocker), so expect even more 3-WR sets tonight (and the occasional use of Nate Solder as an eligible blocking tight end).
