Patriots vs. Jets: Game Thread

New, comments

The official Pats Pulpit game thread for the New England Patriots week two match-up against the New York Jets.

Ed Mulholland-US PRESSWIRE

Tonight, the New England Patriots will take on the New York Jets in their 2013 home opener on Thursday Night on NFL Network.

As you may have heard, the New England Patriots are banged up. Running back Shane Vereen is out for at least the next eight weeks, while tight end Rob Gronkowski and wide receiver Danny Amendola are both being held out after being listed as doubtful on the injury report.

This game could get ugly. The Jets are starting a rookie quarterback, and didn't have much of a running attack last week against the Bucs and the Patriots are particularly good in that area. Meanwhile, the Patriots were ugly in their offensive attack against the Bills last week, and they will need to be much more crisp in their execution tonight to avoid similar results.

At the end of the day, the Patriots are still the more talented team on both sides of the ball, and when looking at the quarterback battle, the Patriots blow the Jets away. Greg's Prediction: Patriots 23 Jets 16

Feel free to use this post as an open thread to discuss tonight's game!
