Finally, a little bit of good news for Patriots Nation.
Cornerback Alfonzo Dennard appeared in a Nebraska court this morning, where he admitted to violating the terms of his probation when he was arrested this past July for a DUI. The prosecution was pushing for a probation revocation hearing, which potentially meant that Dennard could go straight to jail.
While the judge agreed that he was in fact in violation of probation, she did not recommend any immediate jail time and allowed him to remain on the same terms of his current two year probation until his sentencing on December 5th. Dennard is scheduled to appear in court for the DUI case on October 8th.
While he could still see time for the violation down the road, all signs point to him being on the sidelines and with the team this season. And if the first two weeks of the season is any indicator, the Patriots are going to need him more than ever.
