Football is Back: Broncos vs. Ravens Open Thread

Open thread for the Ravens vs. Broncos Thursday Night Football game to kick-off the 2013 NFL season.

Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

Football is back!  And not in the sort of official, sort of unofficial way of the preseason, but in the form of a game that will count in the standings.

At 8:30 PM ET tonight, the Baltimore Ravens will face off against the Denver Broncos to kick-off the 2013 NFL season.

Of course, this game has plenty of intrigue for Patriots fans.  The Baltimore Ravens are the team that knocked out the Patriots in the AFC Championship earlier this year on their way to the Super Bowl.  And the Denver Broncos are the team that the majority of prognosticators have knocking out the Patriots in this season's AFC Championship on their way to a Super Bowl.

The game will also feature the first time receiver Wes Welker suits up in a Denver Broncos uniform after six years with the Patriots.  Man, that's going to be weird.

As for my prediction, I like the Broncos in this one.  They're at home, they're hungry for revenge, and they're simply the more talented team.

Greg's Prediction: Broncos 27 Ravens 20
