Patriots Lead Colts 14-7 After First Quarter

After one quarter, the Patriots lead the Colts 14-7 thanks to two LeGarrette Blount touchdowns.

The New England Patriots got off to about as good of a start as you could imagine against the Colts.  On the opening drive, on a third and short, cornerback Alfonzo Dennard intercepted an Andrew Luck pass and returned it to the two yard line.  On the Patriots first offensive play, LeGarrette Blount plunged into the end zone to give the Patriots a 7-0 lead.

The Patriots then forced the Colts into a three and out, and proceeded to drive straight down the field on the next drive.  Brady was sharp on the drive, throwing a particularly tough pass into traffic to Danny Amendola.  LeGarrette Blount capped off the drive again, with another two yard score.

Down 14-0, the Colts did respond with an excellent drive.  They converted two third downs before Andrew Luck hit LaVon Brazill for a perfectly placed 39 yard touchdown to cut the deficit to 14-7.

The Patriots have the ball to begin the second quarter.
