Patriots Sent Darrelle Revis Home For Coming In Late

The Patriots send their star cornerback home after he was late to practice on Tuesday.

News from the Boston Globe: the Patriots sent star cornerback Darrelle Revis home after he was late to practice on Tuesday morning. The practice started at 7:30am; it isn't clear at what time Revis showed up.

Per the Globe, sources close to Revis state that he's taking responsibility for his actions and understands where the rules come from.

Revis was back at Wednesday practice and told reporters to reach out to head coach Bill Belichick if they had any questions about why he wasn't at practice on Tuesday.

This storyline is delicate as it's easy to fall to both extremes in judgment. Yes, Revis is at fault for being late, but he's accepted blame and responsibility for his actions. Yes, Belichick might have been heavy handed with the ruling, but he's consistent in his message about putting the team first.

It will be a story because anything with Revis is a story- and that's fair. But in the grand scheme of things, this is probably just a bump in the road and all parties will have moved on.
