The New England Patriots have announced their inactives for their week eight match-up against the Chicago Bears:
Jordan Devey, OL; Alfonzo Dennard, CB; Cameron Fleming, OT; Aaron Dobson, WR; Chris Barker, OL; Chandler Jones, DE; Nate Ebner, S
The big news here is Alfonzo Dennard. The cornerback was not on the injury report this week and is a healthy scratch. With Brandon Browner ready to assume a bigger role, and Kyle Arrington outplaying him, it would not have been a surprise to see a demotion on the depth chart. But to see Malcolm Butler jump Dennard on the active game-day roster... now there's a surprise. Aaron Dobson is also a healthy scratch.
As expected, running back Shane Vereen is active after missing Friday's practice with an illness.
The Patriots will finally be fully stocked on the interior as Bryan Stork and Dan Connolly are both set to return following concussion injuries.
Akeem Ayers will make his Patriots debut after the team acquired him this week. Also, rookie running back James White is active for just the second time this season.
