Patriots injury news: Chandler Jones could be getting closer to return

Chandler Jones has participated in two straight days of practice, and could be inching closer to a return.

It appears that New England Patriots defensive end Chandler Jones could be inching closer to a return to the field.

Jones returned to the practice fields on Wednesday and was limited in what was more of a walkthrough. However, in yesterday's Turkey day practice session, Jones once again participated in a limited role.

Yesterday's appearance was more telling than Wednesday's as Thursday practice sessions are usually more intense in nature. Last week's brief appearance of Sealver Siliga is an example.

Jones has missed the last four games due to a hip injury. Initial reports indicated that he would be out around a month, although more recent reports have suggested that he could be out for the remainder of the regular season.

It is highly unlikely that Jones would return for Sunday's match-up against the Packers, be we will get some more clarity once the final injury report is released this afternoon. Nonetheless, the fact that Jones has increased his practice participation is undoubtedly a sign of progress in his recovery.
