The fan vote has completed for the 2015 NFL Pro Bowl, and it accounts for just a third of the process of determining which 86 players make the Pro Bowl (the players and the coaches are the other thirds).
Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers barely edged out Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning for the top seed of the votes, with both picking up over a million votes a pop. Patriots quarterback Tom Brady finished third with 871,189 votes.
While Brady didn't top his position group, tight end Rob Gronkowski was the unquestioned leader at his, gaining 601,093 and finishing in 10th overall. Kicker Stephen Gostkowski was the only other Patriot to finish in the top two of their position, winning the top kicking slot with 210,636 votes.
Glaring absence? Uhh, where's cornerback Darrelle Revis (missed out to Joe Haden and Richard Sherman)? Or safety Devin McCourty (missed out to Donte Whitner and Kam Chancellor)?
Oh yeah, for some weird reason McCourty was listed as a strong safety, instead of his actual free safety position. Also, Browns fans did a great job stuffing the ballot to get nine players into the top voting slots. So don't worry too much.
That's not to say that Revis or McCourty won't make the Pro Bowl; they will once the players and coaches have their say. But it's interesting that Gronkowski and Gostkowski were the only Patriots players to rank in the top two of their position for these votes.
Final votes will be determined on December 23rd, as a holiday present for everyone. Teams will be determined through a draft process of the 86 eligible players.
The Pro Bowl is January 25, 2015 (7 p.m. on ESPN) at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Arizona, site of Super Bowl XLIX.
