So Week 17 doesn't really mean much anymore. Sure, it would be nice to stick it to the Bills and keep the Patriots winning streak at home against AFC teams alive and well, but there are certain priorities as New England heads into the bye week.
The biggest note, and the one in the Patriots control, is which players receive extra rest in order to ensure their health moving into the playoffs.
There are a few players who absolutely cannot get hurt if the Patriots want any chance of moving forward in the playoffs. One is Rob Gronkowski. Another is Darrelle Revis. Yes, you can add Tom Brady into that group if you want.
Bill Belichick won't be benching his starters until after the first quarter, or maybe halftime depending on how they look coming out of the gate. Don't be surprised if they even do a rotation, with the starters in the first and third quarters, withe Jimmy Garoppolo leading the second and fourth quarters.
There are a lot of options. I'm asking you, as Couch Coach, how would you approach Week 17's game against the Bills?
