The 2014 NFL Scounting Combine will kick off on Thursday of this week in Indianapolis, with players reporting tomorrow. Typically, most teams will have a coach or personnel executive hold a press conference or field questions with reporters. In 2014, the Patriots will not be one of those teams with neither head coach Bill Belichick or Director of Player Personnel Nick Caserio scheduled to speak with reporters.
In fact, the last time Belichick spoke at the Combine was back in 2009, when he gave an absolutely epic opening statement
Since then, Nick Caserio has sometimes spoken to reporters, but not in a typical press conference environment. It remains to be seen if he will do something similar this year. But for now, I wouldn't get your hopes up. The next time we hear from Patriots head coach Bill Belichick will probably be at his annual pre-draft press conference.
Of course, we'll still be covering the combine in full. So stay tuned!
