According to Dianna Russini of NBC Washington the New England Patriots might still be the front runner in acquiring the services of cornerback Aqib Talib.

Raise your hand if you expected that. Of course, Washington has been linked to every free agent, and they already ponied up money for fellow cornerback DeAngelo Hall, but when team owner Dan Snyder wants a toy, he usually goes out and buys it.
The fact that the Patriots are not just in the running with Snyder, but offering a better deal? Take it at face value. The Patriots want Talib.
If the Patriots remain aggressive with Julian Edelman, and if Alterraun Verner still offers a much lower price tag we can't know how Bill Belichick plans to spend his money. All we can do is sit back, buckle-up, and watch free agency unfold.
This is going to be fun.
