I'm expecting this to slow down over the weekend, so I'm bumping this thread to the six spot in the line-up.
The Patriots have had an undeniably eventful free agency period so far, with the departure of Aqib Talib and the acquisition of Darrelle Revis. They even brought back tight end Michael Hoomanawanui, who's locked in for at least one more (hopefully uneventful) season, and long snapper Danny Aiken.
Add in the news surrounding Vince Wilfork's pending departure and I can't remember a free agency period this involved in recent history.
As we head down to the doldrums of the free period, look for some middle-tier players to start signing, possibly first with the resultion of a duel between Ian Rapoport and Adam Schefter on the status of cornerback Brandon Browner and the Patriots. Julian Edelman's status is in the air, as is Emmanuel Sanders and Hakeem Nicks. There's still some solid interior linemen on the market.
The flash period is over. The team building is just beginning.
