Darrelle Revis Passes Physical; Officially a Patriot

You can stop crossing your fingers! It's now a done deal.

Derick E. Hingle-USA TODAY Sport

Happy days! According to NFL agents Schwartz & Feinsod, cornerback Darrelle Revis has officially passed his physical and signed his contract with the New England Patriots.

For those interested in the timeline of the deal, the Buccaneers released Darrelle Revis on March 12th, right before the draft pick they owed to the Jets would have been bumped from a 4th rounder into a 3rd rounder. Revis was immediately linked to New England and expressed his desire to play for Bill Belichick.

The Patriots signed him to a one year deal, with the open expectation of a future extension, with the entire deal pending Revis passing a medical exam on his knee, due to a torn ACL in 2012.

Of course, Revis was tremendous last season, even playing out of his normal scheme and away from his elite skill set, setting the stage for an enormous impact on the Patriots defense.

Welcome aboard Revis, and we're all rooting for you to live up to the expectations.
