With Pro Days now in full-session, we're going to hear more and more about different prospects that the Patriots will hold private workouts with. While the workouts sometimes do reflect actual interest, they are usually more of an information gathering practice for teams. Nonetheless, taking a closer look at the prospects that the Patriots or another team work out are a nice way to study different areas of the draft.
One of the first names connected to the Patriots this offseason is former Ohio State back-up quarterback Kenny Guiton.
At his Pro Day today, Guiton revealed that he has a private workout scheduled with the Patriots for March 26th.
Guiton already has a major New England connection through his college head coach, Urban Meyer, who is good friends with Patriots head coach Bill Belichick.
Guiton is a dual-threat quarterback who saw increased time behind Braxton Miller the last two seasons. Despite being a back-up, he was impressively named a captain by his teammates. Guiton isn't expected to go in the first two days of the draft, but could be worth a flier on day three or as an undrafted free agent. With the Patriots in need of a developmental arm, Guiton could be a name to watch.
