NFL "Tampering Day" Patriots Open Thread

Open thread for the start of the NFL's legal tampering window which begins at noon eastern on Saturday.

Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports

In case you haven't heard, the NFL's legal "tampering window" for teams to negotiate with the agents of players will begin today at 12:00 PM ET.

This window, created as an agent to curb the blatant tampering that teams already partook in, was first introduced in 2011 after the lockout that lasted until the summer. As Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.com explained this morning, the window is essentially meaningless because teams aren't allowed to discuss financial terms or come to any sort of agreement during this time.

Nonetheless, we may find out a bit about whom the Patriots are interested in, and what teams are interested in some of the team's own free agents. In other words, the rumors from the last few weeks may or may not pick up steam over the next couple of days.

The window will last until 3:59:59 PM ET on Tuesday. At 4:00 PM, teams will be able to strike agreements with free agents.

Until then, feel free to discuss any rumors you'd like here!
