With the 105th pick in the fourth round of the 2014 NFL Draft, the New England Patriots have made a selection, taking center Bryan Stork out of Florida State.
Team Needs:
TE | DT | DE | LB | OG/C | S | RB | QB
Thoughts: The Patriots have addressed what was arguably their biggest need in the draft with this selection by grabbing center Bryan Stork, who is a smart, technically sound interior lineman that could be a plug and play prospect. He also earned the 2013 Rimington Trophy as the outstanding center in the nation.
Patriots Draft Picks:
Round 1, Pick 29: Dominique Easley, DL, Florida
Round 2, Pick 62: Jimmy Garoppolo, QB, Eastern Illinois
Round 4, Pick 105: Bryan Stork, C, Florida State
Round 4, Pick 130: Today
Round 4, Pick 140 (Compensatory selection, can't be traded): Today
Round 6, Pick 179: Today
Round 6, Pick 198 (via Philadelphia): Today
Round 6, Pick 206: Today
Round 7, Pick 244: Today
Instant Grade: A-
Stork was one of the best players still available and fills an obvious need along the interior offensive line. He's not the most physically gifted prospect, but is pro ready and is going to have the chance to come in and compete with Ryan Wendell and Dan Connolly for a starting spot as a rookie.
