The good news for free agent tight end Jermichael Finley? He is beginning to return to health.
The bad news for Patriots fans hoping their team will sign Finley? He's eyeing a return to the Green Bay Packers once he does get clearance to play. He told Jason Wilde of ESPN Wisconsin exactly that yesterday:
From @JermichaelF88: "This is the best I've felt in this entire crazy process." Says he still very much wants to return to #Packers.

More from @JermichaelF88: "Tell everybody I'm working as hard as I can to get back to Packer Nation."

Currently, the only veteran "move" tight end the Patriots have on the roster is DJ Williams, If the Patriots want competition for Williams, it doesn't appear that Finley will be an option anymore.
Another free agent possibility is Dustin Keller. The Patriots had him in for a visit prior to the draft, and as of mid-June, were still in contact with him.
