We're finally here: after six long months of waiting, the New England Patriots are set to kick off training camp. The team's first practice session is slated for 9:45 AM this morning and is open to the public. For more information on attending the session, you can call the Patriots' training camp hotline at 508-549-0001.
Roster Update:
Yesterday, the Patriots made a move on the back-end of the roster, releasing rookie free agent wide receiver Tyler McDonald, and signing first year receiver Greg Orton. Orton spent time on the Patriots practice squad near the end of 2013, and provides size to the Patriots' receiving corps. He's a long shot to make the roster.
What to Watch For Today:
Today's session probably won't be the most intense, as due to new CBA rules, the Patriots aren't allowed to hold a full-pads practice session yet. However, it will be interesting to see how much Rob Gronkowski and Vince Wilfork participate. Neither player was placed on the PUP list, which is a good sign for their health, but it's a situation that still merits watching.
Feel free to keep it here to discuss the first day of Patriots training camp!
