The New England Patriots and Philadelphia Eagles are tied at 21 at halftime. A few quick thoughts:
- Flags, flags, flags, flags, flags, flags, flags, flags, flags, flags.
- Tom Brady was exceptional in his first two series. He threw a pick-six to Cary Williams on the opening drive, but it was clearly due to a miscommunication with newcomer Steve Maneri. Other than that, Brady was nearly flawless, connecting with Kenbrell Thompkins on a back-shoulder fade for a touchdown on the team's second drive.
- Jimmy Garoppolo also came into the game as the second quarterback, and threw a pair of touchdowns. James Develin and Brandon LaFell were the recipients.
- Patriots shuffled a lot along the offensive line. Josh Kline, Jordan Devey, Marcus Cannon, and Dan Connolly all played multiple positions in the first half.
- Darrelle Revis made his debut and wasn't thrown at. That's probably a good thing.
