(H/T Brady's Revenge)
People always hate the good teams, which means that the following information should be taken as a positive:
The New England Patriots are one of the most hated NFL franchises in the world.
Reddit user kmhokies35 polled around to determine which US State hated which NFL team the most (spoiler: New England hates the Jets the most, except for Rhode Island [?!?!] who hates the Cowboys), as well as which continent hates which team.
You can see the results here.
The Patriots are the most hated team in New York, Florida, and Indianapolis, which makes a fair amount of sense. They're apparently the most disliked team in both South America and Asia. Not sure why. But at least the San Francisco 49ers are the most disliked team in the USA.
It's pretty easy to see why certain teams are the most disliked; it's generally the best team in the division, or that best team's division rival. The only real exception I see is in the Arizona/New Mexico states, where their most disliked team is the Steelers, likely due to the Super Bowl defeat.
Go take a look. It's worth it.
