Sunday's victory against the Minnesota Vikings was a major milestone in the illustrious career of head coach Bill Belichick. It was his 200th career victory as a head coach, tying him for 6th most in NFL history with Marty Schottenheimer.
Prior to joining the Patriots, Belichick held a 36-44 coaching record from his stint with the Cleveland Browns from 1991 to 1995. Since joining New England, he has posted a sterling 164-62 coaching record; the 164 wins would have him ranked 13th most all time.
Belichick has changed the face of the Patriots franchise and the team would not be in its current state without him. He has acted as both the coach and the general manager and is considered one of the greatest coaches of all time.
When asked about his achievement, Belichick tried to deflect. "It is very gratifying to reach that milestone," he said during the post-game press conference. "But what it really says is [that] I had a lot of really good players."
Congratulations to Bill Belichick for reaching such an impressive milestone. The Patriots will have to win 13 more games this season for Belichick to tie legendary coach Paul Brown for 5th most wins of all time at 213.

On an additional note, quarterback Tom Brady has passed John Elway for 3rd most wins by a quarterback all time. His 149 wins trail just Brett Favre (186) and Peyton Manning (169). Elway ranks 4th with 148, while Dan Marino ranks 5th with 147.
Brady will have to play at least two more seasons after the current year to pass Favre. Manning will continue to chug along.
