DeflateGate: Patriots Assistant Suspected; Investigator Issues Statement

The league has a suspect and the investigator has issued a statement.

This situation is not yet over.

First, Fox Sports' Jay Glazer broke the following news:

Breaking news: sources tell @FOXSports the NFL has zeroed in on a locker room attendant w Patriots who allegedly took balls from officials locker room to another area on way to field. Sources say they have interviewed him and additionally have video. Still gauging if any wrong doing occurred with him but he is strong person of interest

Per the Boston Herald's Jeff Howe, there is a bathroom on the way between the official's locker room and the field, so that could honestly be the entire story.

Additionally, wording is extremely important: locker room attendants are not allowed to touch the footballs. Specified "ball attendants" are expected to bring the footballs to the field. Further investigation will reveal if this is a misreport, or actual wrongdoing. Since the person actually brought the footballs to the field, it's likely a mislabeled employee.

That said, the report admits that no "wrong doing" has been determined. So, along with every single other report about this situation: chill out since no one knows anything at all.

Ted Wells, the league appointed investigator, also released a statement today saying that the process will continue for weeks after the Super Bowl. This will not go away for a while.
