Cornerback Tarell Brown was the only absence at the New England Patriots practice on Friday. Brown has missed two straight practices.
Per the NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the foot injury is "potentially serious" and Brown is seeking a second opinion on the injury. Brown was placed on the injured reserve at the end of the 2014 season due to a foot injury.
Injuries to the feet are some of the worst in sports as they take a long time to heal before a player is back to 100%. The Patriots might not have the time to let Brown heal before the trade deadline at 4:00 PM EST on November 3rd, and New England might be forced to make a move. We've highlighted the potential trade targets here.
The Patriots currently have 2nd-year Malcolm Butler (undrafted), 3rd-year Logan Ryan (3rd round), rookie Justin Coleman (undrafted), and recently grabbed 3rd-year Rashaan Melvin (undrafted) off waivers. The Patriots might, unfortunately, be forced to move free safety Devin McCourty to cornerback. There aren't many proven options at cornerback on the roster.
Running back Dion Lewis (abs) and linebacker Dont'a Hightower (ribs) were at practice.
