The Patriots will travel to Indianapolis to play the Colts on Sunday Night Football.
Injury Report:
Player | Position | Injury | Status |
Tarell Brown | CB | Foot | Out |
Dion Lewis | RB | Abs | Questionable |
Dont'a Hightower | LB | Ribs | Questionable |
Trey Flowers | DE | Knee/Shoulder | Questionable |
Tarell Brown has been hobbled with a foot injury that kept him out of the Jacksonville game and likely was re-aggravated or got worse in the Cowboys game. He missed the last two practices and reports are out that he's seeking a second opinion on the injury and the injury is serious. It could be possible that his season is already over. For Hightower, his injury occurred during the 1st quarter against the Dallas Cowboys last Sunday and the Patriots held him out of that game as a precaution. Another player who suffered a similar injury is Falcons RB Tevin Coleman, who was out for two weeks. In the case for both Coleman and Hightower, it comes down to pain tolerance. Hightower is likely a game-time decision. For Dion Lewis, an abdominal injury occurred during the practice week although I would be surprised if he's out of the game. As the Patriots most dynamic running back, he had to be a large part of the game plan. Trey Flowers has not been active all season and I don't see that changing unless the Patriots suffer an injury at the defensive end spot.
Players to keep an eye on are James White (in case Lewis is inactive), Jerod Mayo, Jon Bostic, and Logan Ryan as replacements to the players hobbled by injuries. It should be interesting if the Patriots have Rashaan Melvin suit up because the Patriots only have 4 active CBs for the game. Melvin would likely match up on Donte Moncrief because of similar size and athletic ability.
