According to the NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the injuries suffered by left tackle Marcus Cannon and edge defender Jabaal Sheard are considered "minor."
The Patriots missed both players against the Colts and their availability for next week's game against the New York Jets will be important to follow.
Sheard suffered from an ankle injury, but he was telling reporters after the game that he was fine and his sitting out was just precautionary. The loss of Sheard meant that Chandler Jones and Rob Ninkovich had to play the whole game, and they both played their best games of the year.
Cannon injured his toe, leading to practice squad tackle Cameron Fleming playing heavy snaps at right tackle. Fleming was serviceable in his role.
The Patriots are also dealing with an injury to running back Dion Lewis (abdominals) and to linebacker Dont'a Hightower (rib), and special teamer Matthew Slater suffered a serious injury against the Colts. Hopefully all of these players recover quickly because they will be crucial for the Patriots down the back stretch of the season.
