The New England Patriots have officially activated receiver Brandon LaFell from the PUP list, according to NFL insider Ian Rappoport.
The #Patriots are activating WR Brandon LaFell, source said. He’s off PUP. Should help their offense immediately.

LaFell is now eligible to play and could suit up for the Patriots as early as tomorrow when they host the New York Jets. LaFell adds another element to an already dangerous receiving corps and represents another weapon that opposing defenses have to worry about. He caught 74 passes for 953 yards and seven touchdowns last season, and was looking to pick up right where he left off before a foot injury sidelined him for the early part of the 2015 season. But he's back now, and eager to get to work.
Odds are coach Belichick won't throw LaFell right into every down duty and will opt instead to ease him back into the offense, but there's no reason why the 28 year-old receiver can't start making at least some kind of impact right away. We'll have to wait for the official inactives list tomorrow to see if LaFell will be suiting up against the Jets, but it would certainly be a boon for Tom Brady to get another one of his favorite targets back.
And because I will post this video any time that I get a chance... Brady to LaFell.
