We are midway through the 2015 regular season and the New England Patriots, as one expect at this point in time, are a little banged up. Because of that, today's injury report is one of the longest the team has released so far this year. Hopefully, it will get shorter in the upcoming days (and weeks).
Let's take a look at it (via patriots.com):
OT Marcus Cannon (Toe): DNP
LB Jamie Collins (Illness): DNP
OG Tre' Jackson (Knee): DNP
OT Sebastian Vollmer (Concussion): DNP
DB Justin Coleman (Hand): LP
WR Julian Edelman (Knee): LP
DB Duron Harmon (Knee): LP
WR Keshawn Martin (Hamstring): LP
OG Shaq Mason (Knee): LP
DE Jabaal Sheard (Ankle): LP
Offensive linemen Marcus Cannon and Tre' Jackson are minor surprises. Cannon has been absent since week five, while Jackson injured his knee two weeks ago. It seems that the team wants to play it as safe as possible and only at full strength let the two step on the field again.
The same can be said about Sebastian Vollmer and Jamie Collins. Vollmer is in the concussion protocol and has to be cleared before practicing again, while Collins has been kept out of last week's game against Washington due to an undisclosed illness. Hopefully, it's not as serious as a recent media report indicated it was.
Of course, there are also good news: defensive end Jabaal Sheard returned to practice after missing the last three games with an ankle injury.
The New York Giants' injury report looks as follows:
WR Victor Cruz (Calf): DNP
TE Larry Donnell (Neck): DNP
OG Justin Pugh (Illness): DNP
OG Geoff Schwartz (Ankle): DNP
LB J.T. Thomas (Ankle): DNP
LB Uani Unga (Neck): DNP
CB Prince Amukamara (Pectoral): LP
CB Leon McFadden (Groin): LP
