Patriots Sign Tight End Joe Fauria, King of the Touchdown Celebration; Also Brock Vereen, Chris Greenwood

The New England Patriots have brought in the family members to bolster the roster.

Tight end Joseph Fauria, former Detroit Lion and teammates of tight end Michael Williams, has been added to the practice squad. Fauria is nephew of Patriots Super Bowl winning tight end Christian Fauria. Fauria has some wicked touchdown celebrations that could be a sign of things to come:

The Patriots have also added defensive backs Brock Vereen, brother of former Patriots Super Bowl winning running back Shane Vereen, and Chris Greenwood, probably the third cousin twice removed of someone or other.

Defensive backs Dewey McDonald and Ross Ventrone have been released to make space. The Patriots had space on the practice squad after the promotion of Chris Harper, but this likely means that Chris Barker will not be on the practice squad for the time being.

The practice squad is now as follows:

T Blaine Clausell
TE Asante Cleveland
TE Joseph Fauria
LB Darius Fleming
DB Chris Greenwood
FB Joey Iosefa
T Keavon Milton
DT Robert Thomas
DB Brock Vereen
T Torrian Wilson

Other locker room notes: Jamie Collins is still not to be seen, while the following players have been named practice players of the week:
