Normally, teams release their first injury report on Wednesday. However, since the New England Patriots and the Buffalo Bills won't play until Monday night, the two AFC East rivals have released their first week 11 injury reports today. Let's take a look at them.
Via patriots.com, here is the Patriots' newest report:
CB Justin Coleman (Hand): DNP
LB Jamie Collins (Illness): DNP
WR Julian Edelman (Foot): DNP
DT Alan Branch (Elbow): LP
OT Marcus Cannon (Toe): LP
OG Tre' Jackson (Knee): LP
DE Chandler Jones (Abdomen): LP
WR Keshawn Martin (Hamstring): LP
OG Shaq Mason (Knee): LP
DE Jabaal Sheard (Ankle): LP
OT Sebastian Vollmer (Concussion): LP
Coleman, Collins and Edelman are no surprises. After all, the trio also missed yesterday's practice session and – at this point in time – has to be considered a collective long shots to play on Monday (Edelman, due to his broken foot, will definitely be out).
The two surprises of today's report are Alan Branch and Chandler Jones. The defensive linemen were not listed on any prior reports, while no injuries were announced during Sunday's game in New York either. Both are integral members of the Patriots' defensive attack and their respective injury situations are worth monitoring.
Offensive linemen Marcus Cannon, Tre' Jackson and Sebastian Vollmer have practiced for the second day in a row and are well on their way to returning to the field.
